1. Service Description
EvidenX is a scientific evidence mapping tool that searches public databases (PubMed, Crossref, Europe PMC), classifies articles by study design, calculates structural evidence metrics, and provides tools for planning systematic reviews. EvidenX does not generate, fabricate, or alter scientific content.
2. Free and Paid Tiers
EvidenX offers both free and paid access. The following table describes the limits and features of each tier:

Limits reset daily at midnight UTC. EvidenX reserves the right to modify tier limits with 30 days notice.
3. Acceptable Use
- EvidenX is intended for legitimate scientific research, academic work, and evidence-based practice.
- Automated scraping, bot access, or systematic bulk downloading is prohibited.
- Redistribution of EvidenX reports, metrics, or data as a competing product is prohibited.
- Using EvidenX to generate clinical recommendations, treatment plans, or diagnostic advice is prohibited. EvidenX describes the structure of evidence — it does not recommend actions.
4. Data and Accuracy
- EvidenX aggregates data from public APIs (PubMed/NLM, Crossref, Europe PMC). We do not guarantee completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of third-party data.
- Study type classification is keyword-based and may contain errors. See our Methodology page for details.
- EMI, RSC, and PRF metrics are structural descriptors with documented formulas. They measure evidence structure, not evidence quality. Component weights and limitations are publicly documented.
- Open Access PDF detection checks 8 sources but may not find all available versions.
5. Intellectual Property
- Article metadata (titles, abstracts, DOIs) belongs to the original publishers and databases. EvidenX displays this data under fair use for research purposes.
- EvidenX metrics, reports, and analysis outputs are proprietary to EvidenX.
- The Lexicon, Watchtower data, and Method Engine frameworks are proprietary to EvidenX.
- Copy/paste protection is enforced for free users. Paid users may copy content for their own research use only.
6. Content Protection
To maintain the value of the platform and comply with publisher agreements:
- Free users cannot copy, print, or download search results or reports.
- PDF report preview includes a watermark for non-paying users.
- Right-click and keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+A, Ctrl+S) are restricted in the results area for free users.
- These restrictions are removed upon purchasing the Export plan ($10) or higher.
7. Accounts and Authentication
- Account creation requires a valid email address. We support email/password and Google OAuth.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- Session tokens expire after 30 days of inactivity.
- Password reset links expire after 1 hour.
8. Payments and Refunds
- All payments are processed securely via Stripe. EvidenX does not store credit card information.
- One-time purchases (Export $10, Lite $49, Pro $99) are non-recurring and valid indefinitely.
- Subscriptions (Full $159/mo, Lexicon API Developer $29/mo, Enterprise $99/mo) renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time.
- Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of purchase to contact@evidenx.lat.
9. Lexicon API
- The Lexicon API is a separate product with its own rate limits (Free: 100/day, Developer: 10,000/day, Enterprise: unlimited).
- API keys are personal and non-transferable.
- Excessive abuse or automated attacks will result in key revocation without refund.
- The "learn" endpoint contributes terms to the shared Lexicon. Contributed terms become part of the EvidenX knowledge base.
10. Privacy
- We store: email, name, institution (optional), search history, and purchase records.
- We do not sell, share, or monetize personal data.
- Search queries may be used to improve the Lexicon (anonymized term frequency only).
- Password reset emails are sent via Brevo SMTP. Email addresses are not shared with third parties.
11. Disclaimer
EvidenX is NOT a clinical decision support system. It describes the structure, maturity, and distribution of published evidence. It does not evaluate individual study quality, make treatment recommendations, or provide medical advice. All clinical and scientific decisions remain the responsibility of qualified professionals.
12. Modifications
EvidenX reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users.
